"A Taste of Summer" is the theme of Pendleton After 5’s June 11 meeting at the Vert Little Theater, 500 S.W. Dorion Ave, at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a mini concert presented by The Adams Country Gospel Quartet. Guest speaker is Helen Lunsford from Tacoma, WA. Helen’s sense of humor and love of life will lift your spirit as she shares her "Sweet P’s of Life." Dessert will be served. Cost for the entire evening including the dessert & a beverage is only $4.50. For reservations contact Evelyn at 276-5155 or Vicki Chambers at 276-3947. All ladies are invited to attend. Our charter Boy Scout Troop 700 is looking for boys from 10 ½ to 18 years of age to join them any Thursday at 7 p.m. in the church basement. All interested parents or adults willing to spend some time with the scouting program should contact Rick Thomas, 276-2453.

PIONEER PLAYGROUND
PROJECT
Work will begin soon on the new playground equipment being erected at Pioneer Park, N.W. 4th & Despain. They are scheduled to complete the entire project in 5 days, June 13-17. They need your help in the following areas: people power (from kids to senior citizens—there’s a job for everyone!), tools, meals (all food/drinks will be donated—preparers/servers are needed), cash donations which will enable you to have your name engraved on a picket fence at the park or buy a tile on which your child’s handprint in placed. IMPORTANT POSITION NEEDS
TO BE FILLED Hilda Blair, chair of the Board of Christian Education, would like to appeal to you on behalf of our infants and their parents. Debbie Oliver, who has been our Nursery Coordinator for several years, is stepping down to give some other person the opportunity to serve our church in a very important way. This position oversees the Nursery by keeping it stocked with necessary supplies and schedules volunteers each Sunday morning and schedules our paid nursery attendant for Wednesday evenings.
