WORSHIP SERVICE CHANGES

After the recent music workshop with Doug Boldt, they are trying out new songs, ideas, etc. and appreciate your cooperation in helping to enrich our worship time on Sunday mornings.

CHRISTMAS FOOD BASKETS

Donations are now being accepted (food items & money) for Christmas food baskets for those in need within our congregation. In the entryway will be a large Christmas wrapped box in which you may place your food donations (this may include anything for a holiday dinner or regular dinner items (we can use it all); cash donations may be made by marking on the check or envelope specifically for food baskets and placing in the offering any Sunday. Items needed include: stuffing mix, jello mix, canned veggies, olives, rice, cranberry sauce, potatoes, Dream Whip mix, miniature marshmallows, soup, green salad dressing, jam/jelly, etc. Perishable items like meats, fresh fruit, pies, rolls, butter, etc. will be purchased within one day of the basket delivery. We hope you can help make someone’s holiday extra special.

CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE

The traditional Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion Service will be Sunday, Dec. 24 at two different times: between 3-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. in the sanctuary. Drop in at your convenience as the sanctuary is bathed in candlelight and soft Christmas music. This is an informal but reverent time to take a few minutes to remember the "REASON FOR THE SEASON."

CHRIST'S BIRTHDAY OFFERING

"Star of Bethlehem Child of Hope," is the theme of the 2001 Christ’s Birthday Offering sponsored by Women of the Church of God, Anderson, Indiana. This annual offering goes to many projects in the U.S. as well as abroad: our missionaries, colleges and university, Christian education and needy clergy families. A good giving guideline suggests that we give the same amount as the most expensive gift we give. In this newsletter you will find a giving envelope especially for this offering, which will be taken Dec. 16.
