Notice to All Birdwatchers :
Penang Bird Report 1999
We are planning to
publish a Penang Bird Report for 1999. The report will list the birds sighted during
the year 1999 and the locations in Penang State. For this project to be successful
we would need sighting report from people who have been looking at birds; you do not have
to be an expert birdwatcher. The birds that you have sighted in your housing estate
will also be useful. What we are doing is to gather data on which parts of the state
that a particular species of bird occurs; even the most commonest of birds. All your
sighting reports will have to be in black and white, giving the name of the birds,
location, date and any other particulars that you may have. In case you do not have
the exact date, then at least the particular month must be stated. For the Bird
Report to be of any value, sighting reports, on which the report will be based, must
include the observers' names and contact particulars. Please forward your 1998
sighting reports to Mr. Kanda Kumar by e-mail or
by post to the address below.
We are also trying to make this a yearly report, so
please keep a record of the birds you observe for the 1999 Bird Report and forward it to
the postal address below or e-mail as often as it is convenient for you.
