Basketmakers had finally settled into permanent homes, both shallow and deep pithouses. They grew corn, beans, and by the end of their period, squash. They made beautiful baskets, but pottery was not part of their main repetoire. In Petrified Forest National Park, Basketmaker II and III make up 11% of the total sites discovered. There are petroglyphs througout the area created by these people, mostly geometric shapes. |
