Stage 4 - Buchy to Nolleval
Bananas!!
Halfway-ish
Well this wasn't so bad after all. No real hills to speak of. The miles were slipping by nicely as well. Soon we were at Le Heron for a well-earned (well, we thought so) banana stop. I'm not sure how many the organisers had talked Waitrose into donating but they seemed to feature at every meal-break over the two days!
Then it was Nolleval, and the half-way mark... ish. An ideal moment to take a photo. Interestingly I had No.1 , Dave had No.2, Lee No.3, Tony No.4 and Jane No 14 - clever, eh....? No, you see, '14' is 1 and 4, which was the range of numbers we four covered. No? Oh, well, you can't please everyone. Tony and Lee caught up with us having dropped behind a bit - but they were still  battling on .
Just a minute! When we started Tony was riding the drop bars road bike and Lee the Mountain Bike. Now they had changed over. The explanation was that Tony could see his son struggling with the mountain bike so had shown paternal consideration by offering to swap. Mind you there was the matter of another call-of-nature stop ahead - and, of course, that mountain bike didn't have SPD pedals....
