Origins: The daughter of a soldier who left for war when she was an infant and a drug addict who died when she was seven. Her mother's drug abuse caused her hyper empathy. Osias was raised by her uncle and other monks at a monastery. She learned to heal the injured or sick by simply laying on her hands. At ten years old, traumatized by the words and actions of one of the monks, Osias cut her face, resulting in the scar she now bears. The monastery was destroyed senselessly, forcing her for the first time to venture into the outside world.

Other Distinguishing Characteristics: Shea's hair is tightly curled in spirals and falls to mid-back. Her skin is fair, her hands are soft, and she's never had a hard day in her life. Not particularly gorgeous, she does offer a sense of the "girl next door" prettiness, and is always dressed in loose slacks and equally loose blouse, boots, a long ornate sash tied at her waist, and a scarf to cover her hair during sandstorms. There is a leather thong tied around her neck that falls below the neckline of her blouse, concealing what hangs from it. She also has several beautifully crafted silver rings, one a long claw, several ear piercings, a small blue lotus tattoo above her heart, and butterfly tattoos of varying sizes, colors and positions on her back, thighs, biceps and ankles. Everywhere she goes, Shea is followed by a strange result of the apocalypse: a calico otter with large chocolate black bat wings named Orson. Orson was found by Shea during a trip between cities. He was young and orphaned, his mother having died of thirst with him not to far behind. Shea adopted the little creature and raised him to adulthood, and now markets him as her familiar.
Origins: Shea was born and raised in one of the remaining cities in the east, heiress to a vast estate of knowledge saved from the death of the previous world. The Ryenne family was rumored--correctly--to be witches and sorcerers from a long line dating back to near the 10th century. Shea has cashed in on this idea, and has made a name for herself as a fortuneteller--having practically no supernatural sense whatsoever, in her mind. Presently, she is traveling from city to city, telling fortunes and making a haul.

Other distinguishing characteristics: tall, well-muscled, well-dressed and well armed (2 knives, a stun gun and a garrote, oh yeah, and brass knuckles - he thinks he's such a badass) with a gothic looking cross of two bones wrapped in thorny vines tattooed onto his right arm.
Origins: A bored, spoiled, arrogant, ignorant, egocentric, sadistic rich boy who left his home in the city with a few like-minded friends.
