13/12/02 - So, a month on...(Apologies)...What happened? Well, we're playing Cabaret tomorrow, the 6th came and went without much comment being passed, BRML ARE playing Rag Rock, as are 3 Second Memory, Seven:FortySeven, SCD & The Bastard Sons of Shane McGowan...All on December 20th...Are we mad? Probably, yes... EP still not done...teehee
12/11/02 - Let's play good news-bad news....Good news - We made the Cabaret! Bad news - The gig on the 6th has been cancelled... Good news - BRML are playing the Cabaret too... Bad news - They can't make Rag Rock... Good news - We're still playing the Townhouse (now with 7:47 in support)... Bad news - The EP ain't done yet...
5/11/02 - Remember remember the 5th of November for....well not exactly gunpowder, treason and plot, but still a rehearsal nonetheless...Got some recording done as well, just got to finish mixing/iron out a few remaining problems etc...
2/11/02 - Finally confirmed that PDA will be HEADLINING at the Townhouse on December 11th with 3 SECOND MEMORY in support.
29/10/02 - Ok, so the EP's not finished...But there are only two songs to finish!! Be patient and it'll all be done and dusted by December, ready for sale at all our gigs that month...Speaking of which, the debate still rages over what exactly is gonna happen on December 11th, but it does seem like PDA (in some form - ie at least 3/5 members) will be making an appearance... Whether or not we've regressed to supporting BRML again or whether we'll be headlining with 3SM in support no one knows...And it depends who you ask! Oh yeah and we rehearsed today...
15/10/02 - Another rehearsal and anoter new song...How do we do it?! This time Alex's Drift Away is the song to get the PDA treatment, and what treatment it gets...Oh and we finished the recording of Heroin, Maunder and Disinfected Youth today, with a bit of luck the EP could be finished by the end of the week...
11/10/02 - Recording on the PDA original - Champagne Socialist is finally finished and now available to download on our mp3 page, enjoy!
8/10/02 - Rehearsed last night and wrote two new songs "Look and Learn" and another currently titled "Unicorn". Hoping to have them ready for some live dates in November/December.
6/10/02 - Feeling rightly proud after our triumph at Rocktober-Fest on friday. Easily our biggest audience since Cabaret, and a successful evening of fun and frolics... Our thanks and congratulations go to 3 SECOND MEMORY and SEVEN:FORTYSEVEN...Reviews and set lists, as always, to come.
24/9/02 - Rehearsed today and worked on a new song Hibernation that we should be debuting on friday in Mottingham... The ticket sales are going well, but there are still some remaining...Prices are a bargain 4 in advance (those capitalists BRML would never let us charge this low) or 5 on the door... Want more info? Walk this way...
19/9/02 - So that was Bromley and The Townhouse... PDA's domination of a tiny corner of Bromley opposite the cinema continues... By far our best gig so far. All band members were present (just) and correct (well as much as could be hoped for) and it all went swimmingly, my friend... Stand by for ROCKTOBER-FEST! Speaking of which, a third band have been added to the bill, and we will now be supported by both 3 SECOND MEMORY and SEVEN:FORTYSEVEN...Rock-n-nrock-n-roll-maan!
03/9/02 - Went to the Miss Bromley gig at the Bull and Gate last night, and it is now confirmed that PDA will be supporting the band at their next live date at The Townhouse in Bromley...The gig will take place on 18th September, more details will be available shortly...
29/8/02 - Small, short, quick, pointless rehearsal today, just cos we felt we needed to play some choooons after Reading last weekend... Oli played us a couple of new songs, they have no lyrics or anything, and we historically don't do too well in writing songs that way... Anyway, need to get our collective arse into gear to prepare for some live dates this autumn.
7/8/02 - More recording...With the rest of the band on holiday/unavailable, Alex lays down the rest of the drum tracks needed to make the upcoming EP. We still don't have a title for this - e-mail us if you have any suggestions please...
6/8/02 - Historic moment in the history of PDA as Alex and Oli make there way to 'swanky Tower Road studios' to record some stuff... If you wanna see what they got up to in between Diet Coke breaks, check out the MP3s page and download our cover of Ash's Goldfinger which is to be entered into a competition to win a place as the B-side to their next single.
16/7/02 - Got together for a rehearsal and finally started to work on some NEW SONGS!! Well, actually a couple of new covers just for a laugh... New songs will follow shortly. Also started to think about some sorta get together in October.
6/7/02 - SUMMER FAYRE...PDA ROCK THE SOCKS OFF TOMBOLAS AND CAKE STALLS! Hello everyone, come and meet Ros, just don't prod her too hard - she might break... Latest line up shown to the world! Again, I think everyone was reasonably happy, although we've played much much better. It was nice to play outside...The first (& only) date of the festival season for PDA...
24/6/02 - Overall feelings of satisfaction following Hot Beef Injection Although we were without poor ickle Ros, we felt that we did ourselves justice and everyone was very impressed by my vodka shots before the finale (actually they weren't - no one paid me any attention at all) =(
23/6/02 - So...That was Hot Beef Injection! How did it go? Don't ask me, I'm just the drummer, i only heard my own mistakes (yes I do make mistakes) and if I tried really hard I could just make out the vocals...I guess the band will get together tomorrow (Monday) and come up with an official post-mortem...Until then...LET'S KICK SOME F*CKIN' ARSE!
12/6/02 - Rehearsed today and are now ready to play a full length set at HOT BEEF INJECTION with the help of Trever Wood on vocals - borrowed from 3 SECOND MEMORY - another band playing with us that night. The other news regarding HOT BEEF INJECTION is the confirmation that BRML will be reforming 'for one night only' and will play a shortened set in support. Tickets, however, are still available (but are selling fast) and only 5... Hope to see you there...
6/6/02 - Since it has been made clear that the venue for HOT BEEF INJECTION is unavailable any other day that weekend, and because the next possible date to get the two bands together is not until September, PDA will be playing a shortened set (minus new lead singer Ros) on June 22nd. A third band (possibly BRML - for one night only) may be added to the line up.
31/5/02 - So the good news is that the worst of our exams are out of the way, the bad news is that Ros has become unavailable for the 22nd June and HOT BEEF INJECTION. Because of this certain question marks hang over the event. At the moment we are hoping to bring the gig forward to Friday 21st June, but this is only a provisional plan as we have no idea as to the availability of the venue or the various members of the two bands... Our apologies for any inconvenience caused and we'll keep you posted...
21/5/02 - Spent all practice working on teaching Ros our own material, managed to get Maunder, Heroin for the Masses and Reign Supreme covered. With a month to "HOT BEEF INJECTION" we look on track. Took a few photos of the new band line up, which can be seen on the Photo Page
14/5/02 - First proper practice with Ros, managed to get Uno, Yes and Celebrity Skin done pretty well. Started work on Heroin for the masses.
9/5/02 - More profuse apologies, but finally some real news for you! Jess quit the band (just before we were going to replace her) and we now have a new vocalist who goes by the name of Ros... More to come later... Also this week, preparation for "HOT BEEF INJECTION" got under way, tickets are now available priced 5.
8/4/02 - Hmmm... Profuse apologies for the lack of updates, we've kinda taken a bit of a break for the moment. Its nothing serious, we've just taken the last few weeks to sort our lives out individually. We've had a couple of almost rehearsals, and holidays for 4/5 of the band. Thing's will most probably be back to normal in the next few weeks... We have recording to do... Meanwhile, of course... BRML are no more, which is kinda sad, but also makes us band numreo uno in these parts...heehee... No, seriously, we're kinda gutted BRML split cos we had great plans for the summer...Miss you guys!!
12/3/02 - PDA hit the studio today.... Well, we hit Oli's house with a drum kit and a mixer... We finally started to do some actual work towards Autumn Of Our Youth and we have two songs complete (without vocals). I'm not gonna tell you which two, care to guess?
5/3/02 - Due to a fuck-up of epic proportions, Laura is no longer in the band...Luckily we have found a willing and able replacement by the name of Jessica, more information on her will be added shortly.
9/2/02 - MUGGLE FEST 2002...Well, what can we say? Those of you who were there know how well it went, those of you who weren't don't deserve to know what you missed out on. Definately our best live performance ever, summed up nicely by Fred Crawley, "you were ten times better than at Rag Rock and you were pretty good then". We are all now officially professional musicians...heehee, and are, i think, very pleased with our overall performance. A few minor problems, ie Oli's guitar, and Laura, but we are generally satisfied.
2/2/02, 6/2/02 & 8/2/02 - Rehearsals in run-up to Muggle Fest
30/1/02 - Rehearsed yesterday, as per usual... Usual line up, usual procedure... Played through the set, all sounding pretty good, few things still need a little tweaking... BRML appeared in local newspaper today (will they ever let us forget it..?)
22/1/02 - Rehearsal today, as per usual... Usual line up, usual procedure... Lex deafened everyone with his new crash cymbal, and demonstrated his new splash cymbal, much fun... Finalised the set list for next month (tickets now sold out) and we're rocking and rolling...
15/1/02 - Rehearsed today, played through all our old originals and bought Yes back from beyond the grave... Have decided on fifteen songs for Muggle-Fest, and all but three or four are perfect. Confidence is high, with 3 weeks to go we must remain strong.... ;)
7/1/02 - Rehearsal today, we learnt a few new covers including Plug in Baby & Celebrity Skin and ran through Unforgiven and Reign Supreme to ensure that they were alright. Everything is going well just over a month to go to Muggle Fest and we are on target.
2/1/02 - HAPPY NEW YEAR to you all...Rehearsal today, decided on some new covers, worked on another new song, Unforgiven, and that was about it
