| I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon for 2 years. I lived in Bertoua, the capital of the East Province. You can see Bertoua towards the bottom left of the map below. As a PCV I taught English as a Foreign Language at Lycee Bilingue. I met my husband there, too! (see our wedding page). Cameroon is a wonderful country that is called "Africa in miniature." The reason it's called that is because there are so many different land types and climates in Cameroon. In the north is the desert, below that is the savannah, in the west are the mountains and the ocean, in the south and east are the jungles. It's a gorgeous country, and I would reccommend for anyone to go visit there. Click on the map to see pictures from that province. |
