On November 16, 2001, Anicet and I were married in Bertoua, Cameroon, Central Africa. I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bertoua and Anicet is Cameroonian. We met in Cameroon in June 2000. We were married at the Mayor's office with some of his family present and several Peace Corps Volunteers present. When we returned to the U.S. in 2002, we were married again by a Justice of the Peace on August 10. We celebrate our anniversary on November 16.
We bought our first house on May 28, 2004. We didn't have to do much to the house when we moved in. We're going to work on the yard because I love flowers, and I want to have lots of them!
This room was used as a formal dining room by the previous owners. We turned it into a library/computer room.
We decided on an African theme in the living room since we have so much carved furniture from Cameroon. We had Cameroonian photos enlarged to hang on the walls.
We got rid of the flowers in the master bathroom and have decorated with elephants.
We had to paint the master bedroom. It was Pepto Pink with a flowered bathroom.  Anicet got the paint idea from an episode of Trading Spaces.
There is another bedroom that my sister stays in, but it was rather messy, so I didn't take a photo! There is also a laundry room that I didn't photograph.
The striped wallpaper in the spare bathroom isn't the best, but we found a surfer-themed bathroom set that actually goes quite well with the wallpaper.
This spare room has become the "carousel room." I put all my carousels in here.
