Mather Pass.
Mather Pass was our second pass today, We had only met one PCT thru Hiker up to this point, a man named Greg, who we had seen 2 times since the begining of the hike. I was starting to wounder where all the PCT'ers were. Later we caught up with Wrong Way and we camped together at the Lower Palisade Lake that night.
Day 4: Going up to Muir pass. We climbed out of the Valley below as we edged our way up to Muir Pass. Here you can see a lake in the middle of the photo.
Gookinville:
After meeting Cliff Hanger, Steady, Shutter Bug and Sun Burn, we camped at the last tree before Muir Pass. Somewhere around 11,400'. I affectionatly called it Gookinville. I had been here about 12 years prior going South Bound when I was doing pieces of the Juir Muir. On a side note, I have completed the JMT by section hiking.
Now plan on Thru-hiking the PCT in 2005. Go Figure.
Day5:
Leaving early that moring we started up to Muir pass. The snow was the deepest on this pass that we did on the entire 10 day trip. You can see over 6' of snow next to the creek.
