Introduction

The following pages present a collection of pictures, information and data taken while replicating various electroninc devices...... , motors, generators and other alternative energy hardware.   While every attempt was made to replicate the devices accurately, it must be noted that in some cases budget issues hindered the quality of the replication effort.  There is also the issue of educaton.   Some of the devices presented  are based on theory that is not  supported in the hollowed halls of acedemia.  A lot of reading and studying of  materials presented in fring technical forums  was  required before certain replication attemps were made.  The pictures and data taken represent best efforts to date.   Improvments and further  testing are ongoing as time and budgets permit.   A special thanks to Hector of arcresearch for taking the time to explain a lot ot the theroy behind his devices.   Hectors devices, files, and dialog are found  at the EVGRAY  yahoo group.

The Prime Mover   (90% energy savings/power on dimand)

The prime mover for the rotoverter is implimented by using a standard  9 wire
three phase motor.  (see drawing below)   The three phase motor will be run on single phase 120vac mains.  The motor is wired for high voltage (460vac as shown below)  Note.
what differes this circuit from what is know as a static phase converter is that it is wired in the hi impedance configuration....   There are 2 capacitors that are used durring operation of the motor.  One is used as a start capcitor and the other is used as the Run capacitor...    The start cap is in circuit durring startup, using either a manual switch or a centrafugal swithc mounted on the  motor shaft.   The run cap is selected  to optomise (power factor correct)  the motors performance under a given  load.

The benifit of running a three phase motor in this configuration is that it puts the motor in a energy saving  mode(up to 90%, untill a load is demanded of it (power on demand).  The price one pays for running the motor in this configuration is a decrease in rated horse power.  The solution for the decrease in horspower is to use a larger hp rated motor for the task .
