PAUW
AWARDS

|
The PAUW awards were first given in 1981 during its Coral Anniversary. The Outstanding Women of Camarines Sur Award was given to women achievers who are non- PAUW members. As originally conceived, awards will be in different fields: medicine and allied areas, journalism, business, performing arts, literature, law, community development and public service, social work, education, sports and youth development, and agriculture. Nominees for the aforementioned awards must be a bona fide member of her profession; have practiced her profession in the province of Camarines Sur for at least ten years; have made significant impact on the community through the practice of her profession; be a recognized leader in the community; be of good moral character and unsullied reputation; and have another skill or talent other than that of her profession.
Within the PAUW itself are women whose names bespeak of enviable achievements, and or enumerable service to the organization. For this reason it bestowed upon its members the Cattleya Award for outstanding achievement and the Waling-Waling Award for loyalty and service. To qualify for the first award, a member must not only have distinguished herself in her profession but must have actively participated in religious and/or civic work. At the same time, she must be a model in the community as an individual and as a professional. The second award is given to PAUW members whose members dates back to 20 years, who have not received the same award for the last five years, and who have rendered valuable service to the association.
