| SANTAS ELVES DESSERT 1 cp shortbread cookie crumbs 3 Tbsp margarine, melted 2 Tbsp packed brown sugar 1 (8 oz) pkg cream cheese, softened 1/2 cp granulated sugar 1 (10 oz) pkg frozen raspberries,thawed 1 tsp lemon juice 1 (8 oz)container (3 cp) whipped topping w real cream Combine crumbs, margarine, and brown sugar; press onto bottom of 9 inch square pan. Combine cream cheese and gran. sugar; mixing until well blended. Stir in raspberries and juice. Fold in whipped topping. Pour over crust; freeze several hours or overnight. Serves 12. |
| CHERRIES IN THE SNOW 3/4 cp rice 1/4 cp milk 1 1/2 cp water 1 tsp almond flavoring 1/2 cp sugar 1 pt. Cool Whip 1 pkg plain gelatin 1 jar pie cherries Add water to rice and cook until tender; about 15 minutes. Add sugar. Remove from stove. Add milk to gelatin; mix to make paste and add to rice. Refrigerate until cool, then add almond flavoring and Cool Whip. Put cherries on top of rice mixture. |
| BORAX CRYSTAL SNOWFLAKE You will need; string, wide mouth pint jar, white pipe cleaners, blue food coloring, boiling water,20 Mule Team Borax Laundry Booster, pencil. Cut pipe cleaner into 3 equal sections. Twist the sections together in the center so you have a six-sided star shape. Trim the points if not even. Attach string along the outer edges to form a snowflake pattern. Attach a piece of string to the top of one of the pipe cleaners and tie the other end to a pencil(this is to hang it from). Fill a widemouth jar with boiling water. Mix borax into the water one tbsp at a time. Use 3 tbsps of borax per cup of water. Stir until dissolved. Add some blue food coloring if desired. Insert your pipe cleaner snowflake into the jar so that the pencil is resting on the lip of the jar and the snowflake is freely suspended in the borax solution. Wait overnight and by morning the snowflake will be covered with shiny crystals. Hang in a window for a sun-catcher or use as a winter time decoration. |
