 | | Who is David Harbour, you might ask...probably one of the most extraordinary and talented musicians of the 90's.
David's love for music began at the age of six when he first discovered the piano. At the age of sixteen he picked up his first bass and quickly perfected its art. Citing Geddy Lee and Chris Squire as infuluences, it was not long before he developed a syle that was all his own. A self-taught player fueled with an overwhelming interest in music, he began performing his first gigs at the age of seventeen. David made a living playing Top 40 music, which encouraged him to study funk, jazz and Motown bass lines. He has since been asked to record with various named artists such as Kevin White, Leather Leone, David T. Chastain and Michael Harris.
David's style of bass playing is truly unique. He exhibits a great technique: excelling at progressive foundation bass work. His solos display two-handed chops, Stanley Clark style funk, and fast single note runs. David has not forgotten his love for the piano and over the past couple of years his talents at the keyboard have flourished.
During the course oh his musical career David has recorded seven albums with David T. Chastain, and toured the world from 1989 to 1992 in support of three of these releases. David has also released and instructional video for beginning bass players, and in 1996 he played on Michael Harris' "Ego Decimation Profile". He then spent the three years recording a crossover pop and country album with artist's Chris and Candy Smith. In addition he also co-wrote Lost For Words' recent release: an instrumental jazz/fusion album of which David played all bass and keyboard parts.
