The Angel In His Dreams
Late night
warm breeze blowing
allowing him to sleep
for once soundly
alone
on his bed
Dreams
he had a few
even held an angel
in his arms
Oh plain Paul
just a lost soul
wondering through life
without any
rhymes or reasons
but inside him a rainbow
circles above his head
Dreams
he had a few
even held an angel
in his arms
Bright lights
a glorious sunset
they held hands
talking quietly
of future plans
that were not to be
Dreams
he had a few
even held an angel
in his arms
Some things are taken
out of our hands
just hope for the best
and carry on
the best way you can
It ain't easy to do
a broken heart is
hard to mend
and now all he has is
the angel in his dreams
She lives on inside
of his heart and soul
he loved her dearly
and now he knows
that she walks on
streets of gold
Dreams
he had a few
even held an angel
in his arms
