Above are two examples of birthday cards using original designs of Spring Flowers.  Originally used in my Firescreen Project, Spring Panel.  Which you can view as work in progress using the link.
I used the shape of a rocking horse found in a magazine then worked the toys around it.  Adapting the toys for girls and boys
Baby Announcement Pictures
These designs are all worked using either 28 or 22 count evenweave fabric and DMC thread.  With the exception of the Rainbow design which is 6 x 8 all the designes fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.
Personalised Greeting Cards for all occasions made to order.
The Sleeping Bear is an original design easily adapted for both boys and girls
The idea of these pictures is to have a permanent record of a new baby's birth details and many people find them a thoughtful and original gift.  The details I include where ever possible are: name, birthdate, time of birth, weight and star sign.  I can also include any other details requested by the purchaser.  This type of picture provides the bulk of my work but by no means all.
Here are some examples of birthday cards where the particular birthday celebrated is the central feature. The name of the person or the relationship (nan, sister, auntie, Dad etc...) and the date is featured with additional fill in designs appropriate for the specific age.
The four photographs above give an indication of some of my earlier designs.  Elephants, Teddy Bears, Clowns and Rainbows are featured.  The Rainbow design was adapted from my first Cross Stitch book by Jo Verso which did much to inspire me.

Thank you
I have been making my own designs for many years now.  My first design (pictured below) was stitched for my nephew James back in 1989.  Since then I have always had a project or two on the go and  take orders from people who have seen my work.  Unfortunately I have not always photographed these but hope those I have will give you an idea of what I like to do.  I started using graph paper, pencil, scissors and many erasers but since 1996 have been using a design software called Patternmaker.  I have recently purchased the updated version of this which is very easy to use and has many new features.  Here is a link to the website if you wish to investigate HOBBYWARE.COM   I have used many fabrics but prefer to work on 28 and 22 count evenweave in all colours using DMC threads and adding beads for extra detail.  I subscribe to a cross stitch magazine and browse the internet regularly looking for ideas.  After making many kits, I have recently tried my own needlepoint designs and so far am happy with the results.  For these designs I have used 10 and 12 point canvas.  Please look at the work featured on these pages and e-mail me your comments.  I will add and update these pages as regularly as possible so please visit again.
