William Cromartie Currie, Sr. - Born December 3,1885
Died August 3, 1957 in Tuscon, Arizona.
He was a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Arizona. Before this, he was on the faculty at Louisiana State University.
"Grandpop" or "Crumps" was forced to go to Arizona for his health. As a young man, he had tuberculosis.
Aunt Annie raised this man, as his father, (who was her brother), died when he was only two years old; and, his mother, when he was seven. Aunt Annie referred to him as, "My Will".
His son, W. C. Currie, Jr. and granddaughter, Patricia M. Currie were with him in Tucson when he died. He is buried with the Curries in Brusly, Louisiana - West Baton Rouge Parish.
Married Sallie Gibbens Currie December 27, 1906.
They had only one child, William Cromartie Currie, Jr.
