FINALLY!!! It's the word I kept hearing over and over. But yes finally I got it done (6 months for body work to paint). I was VERY pleased with how the paint turned out:-)) When my brother and I went to pick it up, we both said in unison, "HOLY SHIT"!. The whole look of the car had changed. I also picked up some 16" TSW chrome wheels wrapped in 215/40VR16 Yokohama A520's, just to add to the new attitude:)
The color? Well I named it Ultra-violet Red. Basically it's the exact factory code 1991 VW Tornado red mixed with a 2001 Ford violet pearl. It's very hard to tell by the photos, but the effect is AWESOME!
I also got a new Europlate for it reading "1 HOT VW". You can kinda see the pearl in this pic near the front emblem. I totally recommend painting the emblem the same color as the rest of the car. It really cleans up the front end. I did leave the headlight washers though just as a touch:)

If "clean" is the look you're after, then there a few more recommendations I have when re-painting these B3 Passats. You might recall from previous pics taken before I began this project (in case you forgot, click here). You'll notice there are quite a few black components on this car and if going for that "factory" look, keep 'em black then! When I began this project that's not what I had in mind. I wanted to totally personalize this car and my preference is a clean look.
In order to achieve this, I painted these black parts the same color as the rest of the car. These components included the huge door mouldings that extend through both front and rear bumpers, the factory M3 mirrors, door handles, wiper arms and the VW emblems (these were chrome). All these things really updated the look of this car, but one other part I painted kicked this car up to notches unknown!!! The rear tail-light/licence plate housing (as pic above shows) turned out sweeet!! Actually I kinda hesistated painting this, but was ecstatic with the result. Judge for yourself....
