The Wordless Book Has Great Story to Tell
Each day the church had VBS in the morning. So, on Friday we
had invited the parents to come early (to pick up their children)
for a special time of sharing.
Well, I had been selected to share the plan of salvation; I was ok
with this. Then the leader of our team told me that I needed to give
an invitation. This bothered me and made me feel uncomfortable.
I was actually hoping not that many came, so we could do it all
one-on-one--God forgive me!
Well, at first not many came, so I got to share one-on-one with two of
the women above; the other lady was our translator. These two
mothers came early just because they wanted to
hear about Jesus and Christianity. Even though they did not
accept Christ that day, it was a neat opportunity to share with them my
Savior. They were very receptive and open. I
pray they will continue to seek God, and He, being a
promise-keeping God, will reveal Himself to them!
Then at 11:50 (the kids got out at 12:00, but because they were having
graduation they were keeping the kids till 12:15) more and more parents
were coming. So we invited them into this little
room where we were meeting. By the time I started
sharing, we had every chair filled, people were sitting on the
children's tables and standing around the room. Maybe sixty
parents filled the room.
I used the Wordless Book to share the
plan of salvation. The Wordless Book uses different colors to
explain the plan of salvation.
After I explained the important story that the book without words
told, I told everyone in the room that they could
say yes or no to my story. I told them that by saying yes,
they were asking Jesus to be their Savior and their Master.
I asked them to bow their heads and close their eyes. I then
asked them to raise their hands if they wanted to say yes to my
story. I hated this moment. The
tension was strong and I just knew no one would respond.
Slowly, people from all over the room began to raise their
hands! That day several prayed to receive Christ! My
heart went from dread to delight!!
Those that prayed to receive, we gave them copies of the Four
Spiritual Laws and a Bible. As well as gave their names to the
church for follow-up.
One of the ladies, Irene, came up to me and
said, "I have brought my child to this church two times now.
I have looked at the things she brought home and wanted to know
more. Today was the first time I have ever heard this story.
I am so glad you told me about God and His love! I am glad I
prayed with you!"
What a joy and a blessing!!!!
