As another prairie winter begins to give way to a bright, new season, we are very excited to present our Spring 2003 line-up of new fiction and non-fiction releases. It has been a busy year for Canadian writers, and everyone here at Pariah has been extreeeeemely honoured to work with some of the finest talent, both emerging and established.

And no, unfortunately, Alissa York has nothing to do with Pariah Press. We're so much more than a publisher OF fiction... we're a fictional publisher! So please be advised that everything you're about to see on this site does not, in fact, exist, although there are some who might argue eloquently that it should.
Having built our reputation with a strong focus on both innovative new fiction and creative non-fiction works, we have never been shy to experiment a little. This is clear in our Fall 2002 line-up, which saw a new addition to our Pilot Series cookbooks with the successful Votre Occasion: A Wine List for Any Time. One can only imagine sipping a life-giving British Columbian ice wine by candlelight while reveling in Piece, a bold photographic essay of graffiti from across urban Canada, also released last Fall, and produced in collaboration with the Winnipeg Arts Collective. This book was quite a departure for us, and its warm reception has been very encouraging. For the Spring, we will be carrying over the spirit of experimentation with us into a new year.
This Spring features some outstanding new works from fiction writers exploring a multitude of themes. Postmodernist prose, brilliant short story collections, and eccentric novels again push the envelope of new fiction in Canada, and is sure to win the attention of readers both at home and abroad. Our creative non-fiction again goes the extra mile, exploring unique and thought-provoking views and perspectives on history, culture, and politics. Finally, our newest release under the Pilot Series label brings you from our popular past endeavours in regional Canadian recipes to new creative vegetarian styles that are sure to surprise even the most cynical meat-lovers!
