"If you have ever adopted a cyberpet before, then you probably know most of these rules, but, I ask that you read them anyway, just in case there is something in here that you might not be used to. Thanks for understanding the importance of following these rules. The following will tell EXACTLY what is looked for in Applicants, and what is needed to receive one of the adoptees."
1) I want people to be able to find their way to Paradise Island; so the first and most important rule is: YOU MUST PUT A LINK ON THE SAME PAGE AS YOUR ADOPTEE!!! I cannot emphasize this fact enough. Banners have been made for this purpose, but a simple text link will do. The preferred text is: Paradise Isle Adoption Agency.
2) Adoptees are not for re-adoption centers, clipart pages or graphic directories!!! If you find a pet that is not a part of the Paradise Isle Registry, PLEASE, PLEASE SEND AND E-MAIL AND TELL ME!!! I work hard to make this a fun place and do not want it to become a waste of my time and effort. Unless they come from this URL, there is no reason that any of the Paradise Isle Residents should be circling the 'Net.
3) THE FOLLOWING WEBPAGE HOST(S) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED: Neopets, Expage, MSN, groups.yahoo.com, or any other group server. I will not accept any webpages that do not allow graphics in general or .gifs in specific. (It kind of defeats the purpose of adopting a cyberpet in the first place.) Also because those are the easiest ways to turn these from special cyberpets into common clipart... and I don't want that happening.
4) PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE CREATURES OR ANY OTHER GRAPHICS FROM PARADISE ISLE IN ANY WAY! DO NOT CHANGE THE FILE FORMAT(S)! (ie: .gif, .jpg, .bmp, ect). My adoptees have transparent backgrounds and if you try to change them, it might mess the creature and the background up. They are .gifs for a reason. If your webpage does not accept .gifs, then we will talk. Otherwise... DO NOT CHANGE IT!!
5) YOU MUST HAVE AN E-MAIL ACCOUNT THAT CAN RECEIVE .GIF ATTACHMENTS. If you can tell me that the myth of the transparent .bmp is truth, please do so, otherwise I will not send to anyone with a Hotmail account. If this is your e-mail, then I ask that you get a different one, before you try to adopt from me. I recommend Yahoo!
6) YOU MUST HAVE A WEBPAGE ALREADY BUILT FOR YOUR CREATURE! I DO NOT ACCEPT, "I'll build it tomorrow..." The page MUST be up when I receive your Application, or you will not get the creature! They are allowed to have one (1) additional companions on this page; no more than that please. Owning a Bond-mate DOES NOT COUNT as an additional companion.
Example - You own Dragon A and Dragon B. They may share the same page & each have a single attendant, companion, ect. Thus being two (2) additional individual's on the page. This is my absolute limit for other pets and the like being with the Adoptees from Paradise Isle.
7) You MUST have your creature ON YOUR PAGE within ONE (1) week of receiving it in your e-mail. If TWO (2) weeks pass, and I find you have not posted your pet, it will be declared Abandoned, and I will question your ability to adopt cyberpets. IF YOU ABANDON A CREATURE MORE THAN ONCE (2 times), you will be placed on the 'blacklist', and will not be allowed to adopt from here again.
8) Please place a Profile on your creature's page. (ie: Name, Breed, Gender, ect). If you don't do this, how will you remember all of the information about your pet? And it helps those who come to visit your pets know all about them, too. Also, all of these creatures have a Truename. They will accept alternate names and nicknames, but they should never forget their Truename. Paradise Isle asks that you post this along with your Adoptee. There is a sample profile on the Guidelines page.
9) If you send in an Application that is incomplete, contains a wrong e-mail or webpage address, is unacceptable by my Guidelines, or you did not read the rules, THEN I WILL DELETE IT! You will NOT recieve an e-mail from the me, telling you that you may need to fix something. Please put the word "crystalline" in the Comment box when you are adopting if you have read these rules. If you don't then I will know the rules have not been read and you will not recieve your adoptee. I strongly insist that ALL ADOPTERS read these rules and obey them.
