Buddha of Fortune
Pu-Tai was
a wandering Chinese monk of the Tang Dynasty (618-907), known for his
protruding belly and constant laugh. Nicknamed the "Laughing Buddha," he
often roams the countryside with a sack, spreading goodwill and treasures to
the poor. Jade-like glass sculpture of Buddha stands on a large sack. In his
right hand, he carries a chain of coins, which represents prosperity. In his
left, he holds a Ruyi scepter, a symbol of his authority and
achievement. Polyresin statue, treated to glow in the dark. 7.25" height X

Our Buddha Head Bust is handcrafted from water buffalo bones.
Furthermore, it is meticulously hand finished and polished which gives then
a dark bronze-line appearance. Buffalo bones were previously discarded, but
are now recycled to make these astonishing art forms. Being made up of 50%
buffalo bones and 50% resin gives this piece both strength and a valuable
heavy feel. 8.5 tall.
