THANK YOU!!!!! Thank you, for making our web site a success. We have received several emails about various subjects at SIA. While we can not post those email we will address the issues brought up. Several associates say that they have lost respect for management. They say that they are tired of being lied to. The lies cover a broad range of issues from things we were told when we hired in to the fact that one day you do your job one way and the next day that is wrong and you have to do it another way. Several others say that management constantly changes the rules without consulting us. While this is (in their eyes) their company, we are the ones that the rule changes effect. Associates say that none of the rule changes effect management. The handbook states that WE ARE THE COMPANY. Another issue is that we constantly lose our benefits to save the company money. Managers still have their cars, and have not lost close to what we have. Benefits are not the only things that we lose, some associates say that they have to shut off the lights in their areas during breaks, making it difficult to read and to do what they want while the lights in the group leader office all day. We lost the use of our fans during the winter, but air conditioners were on in the offices. Our benefits are a part of our wages and by losing any portion of them means that we are losing wages. Several associates are upset because management seems to have a new policy, to cut an associate at any cost. Associates are cut without time studies. Feedback submitted indicates that unbalanced work loads are common in several areas of the plant. Many (myself included) have had their work loads doubled or more in the last 6 or so months. This may be ok for those who have not have their work loads increased, but how long do you think you will have it so easy. Other associates say that with the raising co pays, deductibles, and out of pocket expenses we are making less. By contributing to your 401k that is less money that we bring home. We are forced to put our 401k money in accounts that are losing money, while, or sources say, Cigna reported a profit last year. Most associates lost money in their 401k. Probably the largest issues are RETIREMENT and INSURANCE. SIA promised to look into a company sponsored retirement program for its associates a couple of years ago. To date there has been no word on the progress of that promise. Sadly, the rumors and what the AR’s have been saying is that management says there will not be a company sponsored retirement plan for the associates who have work and dedicated their lives to this company. So what does that mean, it means that your 401k and Social Security is all that you will have when you retire. Will SS be there when you retire? Has your 401k met the projections that you were told in the past of gaining 4% a year so that you can retire with dignity? Another is PROFIT SHARING. SIA had planned to make a profit in 5 years after opening. Do you remember that once SIA started to make a profit, in only 3 years, they renamed the plan so that they did not have to give us a share of the profit? These are just some of the issues brought up. We encourage everyone to spread the word and to unite.
