The Gat, a Madhyalaya Teen tala, had strong sections of impressive
phrasing and clear fast passages without the customary slurring of the

well-known flute player, Amar Nath, who, however, overcame it bravely,
and presented an excellent exposition of Malkauns, including as it did
some of the best naunces of the raga. It pleased beacuse it was steeped
in swara and the variations were clear and rich. The gat in madhya laya
jhaptaal was also adorned with delectable taan patterns..............Hindustan
