I'm a big fan of music, if you haven't figured that out already. I enjoy reviewing albums and I thought it would be fun to post reviews of albums I've recently bought on this website. All the album tracks are rated on a 10 point scale.
Keane is one of my favorite current bands. I bought their sophomore album, Under the Iron Sea, desperately hoping it would be as good as their first. They've changed their sound slightly from Hopes and Fears, shying away from their melancholy piano driven ballads and developing a slightly more guitar based, upbeat sound. It's a refreshing change, and enough of the "old Keane" is still present to maintain their original fan base. The first half of the album is excellent, but unfortunately some of the songs get a little boring and repetitious towards the end. It's still worth buying though, and I highly recommend it. I think I actually prefer it to Hopes and Fears. Some of the outstanding tracks are "Nothing in My Way", "Leaving So Soon", and "Bad Dream".
