Palo National High School grabs third place in the 2002 Regional Inter-High School Tourism Quiz Bee held last September 20, 2002 at the Leyte Park Hotel, Tacloban City.
Reggie Gares and Czarlyn Gonzaga, sophomores of the said school, represented Leyte Division and competed against 16 delegates (8 Teams) coming from the other eight divisions of Eastern Visayas.
Leyte Division qualifies in the championship round when they tied with the Calbayog City Division in the score of 40 points in the elimination round. The other one was Nortern Samar Division garnering 60 points.
In the championship, Leyte failed to capture the victor's cup as they had chosen almost all the difficult questions putting them to the third place. |

Calbayog City brought home the bacon as the champion and Northern Samar as the second.
"Though we didn't win, we are still happy that we have learned many things from this tourism quiz show. Maybe next year we'll be successful enough to be the regional champion." Mr. Marcelino G. Masik, coach of the quick-witted students said.
The general objective of the contest is to promote tourism in our country and increase the student's awareness of the role of tourism industry in nation building. |
