View of
East Basement Wall shows large finished beams which extend over the stone masonary with
sill on the outside edge. The large stone in the wall, near the floor probably was
originally 8 feet in length and was used to support a jamless fireplace on the first
floor. The basement has a dirt floor. Present doorway to the left of the large
stone appears to have been moved to the rightat which time the support stone was cut
off. Floorboards which act as a ceiling to the basement are made tongue and grove
construction.
Details of construction and floorplan as drawn by Peter Sinclair for Hudson Valley Vernacular Architecture
