Pakistan liberalizes its Visa Policy

Government of Pakistan on the direction of its Prime Minister has further liberalized the existing visa regime for facilitating the visitors belonging to various sectors. For easy access news visa policy details are also now available on Pakistan's Interior Ministry's website:

Establishment of Facilitation Desks at International Airports for Issuance of Visa on Arrival to Businessmen/Investors

As you are aware, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has circulated the decision of the Government to grant visa to genuine foreign businessmen/investors from United Kingdom, United States of America, Italy, Germany, Australia, Brazil, France, Switzerland, Sweden, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Denmark, Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Finland and Turkey. They would be allowed Visa on Arrival (VOA) non-reporting for 30 days on production of any of the following documents:

i) Recommendatory letter from Chamber of Commerce & Industries (CC&I) of the respective country of the visitor.

ii) Invitation letter from business organization duly recommended by the concerned Trade Organization/Association in Pakistan.

iii) Recommendatory letter by Investment Consular of Board of Investmenr posted at Pakistan Missions abroad.

To extend facility of Visa on Arrival to businessmen/investors, "Visa Facilitation Desks" have started functioning at International Airports of Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar with effect from 1st February 2005.
