TURKISH ENGINEER WHO SUFFERED BURN INJURIES
AT MUZZAFFARABAD LOOSES HIS BATTLE FOR LIFE

                                                                             Ankara, December 18, 2005

         Young Turkish Engineer Mr CENK YAKIN who suffered serious burn injuries alongwith his other two colleagues, during rescue operation of earthquake victims at Muzzaffarabad, lost his battle for life and breathed his last on night of December 17, 2005, at the GATA Military Hospital,  here today.

           His funeral rites were held today at the City KOCATEPE mosque, which was attended among others by Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah, ambassador of Pakistan to Turkey, large number of Pak embassy officials, Turkish Engineers community and local peoples. Ambassador of Pakistan went to the Engineer’s family and condoled the sad demise of their beloved.   He said that Mr Cenk YAKIN laid down his life for a noble cause which will be written in golden words in the Pak – Turkey relations.

           Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah lauded the remarkable and un-precedented role played by Turkish Engineers and workers in the rescue and rehabilitation process of earthquake victims of Pakistan. He added that the history is being revived during these difficult days of Pakistan and true manifestation of love is being demonstrated by our Turkish brothers and sisters.
