Story of the month
There are plenty of dogs that give me a little chase while riding, but I ran over one. I was hitting a pretty good clip on a nice country road on my nearly 1 week old bike. I was so proud of those 28" wheels eating up pavement. As I pass by a house with a Spaniel or some mix, I'm not sure it just barked and stood about 16" high. As he makes a bee line for the road I kick it up a notch, "he can't catch me". He did, he must have headed right for my shoe but missed. All I know is that he went right under the middle of the bike and it felt like I hit an inverted pot hole at about 60 mph. That dog rolled like a bowling ball. As I make tracks to assure myself that this suburban hunter takes no revenge on my flesh I noticed an odd sound. As I look back to assess what this noise is I see a brand new 28" wobbling wheel. As I go by that house now I notice that the dog is content with his porch.
