ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS:

Was the Assistant Cultural Secretary of Women's Christian College, Chennai for the year 1998-1999.

Unanimously elected as Cultural Secretary for the year 1999-2000 of Women's Christian College, Chennai; responsibilities included organising, co-ordinating and conducting 'FEST EVE 2000', the College Culturals, with a two-lakh budget.

A student member of the Board of Studies, during all the three years at Women's Christian College, Chennai.

One of the chief organisers of the French Department in the French Inter-collegiate Culturals, 1998-1999, at Women's Christian College, Chennai.

MISCELLANEOUS :

Was much appreciated for my fund-raising efforts that raised about 100 pounds (about 8000 rupees) through henna hand-painting, writing names on grains of rice, greeting cards and other handicrafts.

Won several prizes for painting, photography, flower-decoration, letter-paper designing, jewellery designing, etc. in school and college.

Was one of the ten-member cast of "Inner Laws", a play directed by Mithran Devanesen in 1998-1999, with a budget of one and a half lakhs.

Orange Belt, Level One in Shito-Ryu Style Karate. Won II in fighting (Shiai) and I in Kata (the demonstrtration) in a National Level tournament in Karate in Jabapur, Madhya Pradesh.

MUSIC :

I was singing professionally for a few music groups in Chennai for the past three years.

The Hindu,(April 8, 2002) had this to say about one particular concert, a Geeta Dutt special :

"...Great Performance from Rooplyn debutante Padma, who seems to nearly throb with the life of Geeta's best lively numbers.
Be it the solo, 'O Babu O lala' from 'Dilli ka thug', 'Aaja Zaraa' with Surojit, or simply singing along with the chorus, there was one singer who simply enjoyed what she was doing..."

Have won several prizes for singing both solo and group in school, and college level competitions in both western and indian music.

PROFICIENCY IN LANGUAGES :

Won several prizes for Oratory, Story-writing, Creative Writing, Dialogue-writing, Debates, Recitation, Quiz, etc. in English, French and Tamil in school, inter-school and intercollegiate competitons.
