Graduate Assistantship
The University of Tulsa, Oklahoma
A graduate assistant leading to either an MS or PhD in Biological Sciences is available beginning the Fall 2009 semester (starting 15 Aug 2009) or Spring 2010 semester. The project will involve the study of the pollination ecology of several species of Juniperus in Oklahoma, Texas, and New Mexico. The research will involve both field work as well as air sampling for Juniperus pollen. The project is part of a multi-institution research team recently funded for the "Integration of Airborne Aerosol Prediction Systems and Vegetation Phenology to Track Pollen for Asthma Alerts in Public Health Decision Support Systems."
Applicants should have a B.S. or M.S. degree in biology, botany, aerobiology, environmental biology, or related subjects. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as well as experience with statistical analysis of data. Application to The University of Tulsa Graduate School requires acceptable GRE scores; foreign applicants must also take the TOEFL exam.
