COMMUNITY ISSUES BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY: THE SECURITY REPORT
By Jimmy Gan

As it is, our security is closely monitored with the monthly dialogues that we have with the management office. We are glad to have had a "crime-free" 6 months in Paradesa Rustica.
This was disrupted only recently with an attempted break-in in mid-July in Block B.

We are mindful that as we live in a large condominium complex, security is a long term concern. Thus, we urge residents to extend their cooperation to security guards, to ensure crime free living in our neighbourhood.

The "no-sticker, no-entry" policy at the guardhouse remains intact. Guards are only allowed, at their discretion, to permit entry to a certain number of visitors. The visitors first have to register themselves at the guardhouse and obtain an entry tag.

Thus, if residents are expecting guests, they are advised to inform the guardhouse. Please also advise guests to park their cars in designated visitor parking lots.

The wheel clamping policy is being enforced at the SITA zone and for cars which have been haphazardly parked. The management has given full authority to the guards to implement this policy without fear or favour. Owners of clamped cars will be charged a fine of RM50.00 for unclamping.

Since the implementation of this ruling, there have been fewer or no cases of haphazard parking. The Security Committee is glad that residents are cooperative, although there are still a few people who choose to argue with the guards on this matter. We urge them to cooperate. After all, there are ample parking lots in the vicinity and all it takes is a little consideration to prevent inconvenience to others.

The Rustica Care Group is going strong. Members meet every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at the pool area between 9.30 - 11.30 p.m.
We salute those who have dutifully attended these meetings. Our fellowship has been fruitful and worthwhile thanks to their efforts.

Besides fellowship, the group also discusses current issues that affect our community.
We look forward to more residents joining us.
