It has been almost a year since the Paradesa Rustica Residents Committee was formed and I am pleased with its growing strength.
Improvements to the physical condition of our homes are clearly visible. Security has also been strengthened with the new electronic boom gates and extra guards.
The developer has consented to the hand over of the vacant possession of the community hall on 1 August 2001. This hall will serve as a meeting place for residents, and will contribute towards the building of a close-knit community. As we all know, a close-knit community is vital to the general well-being of residents and the security of our homes.
Although security has improved tremendously since August 2000, the threats of break-ins have not been totally eliminated.
As recent as July 2001, there were attempted break-ins in our community. We have to thank the Security Committee and those who have time and again sacrificed their valuable time for Care Group duty.
We urge residents to contribute in one way or other to serving our community.
Through the careful monitoring of the Audit Committee, our management and sinking fund accounts have shown a healthy balance.
The Recreation Commitee has also done a wonderful job in bringing everyone together through its well-organised functions. The Defects Committee has worked well over the 18 months defects liability period which recently ended on 15 July 2001.
We are now in the process of setting up a website.
It is time for other residents to take over from the existing committee and continue the good work.
We propose an annual gathering in August 2001 for all residents. There will be a democratic election at this gathering to elect new representatives to the community. This event will be organised by the Management and Residents Commitee and will be followed by a barbeque.
