It is the mutual relationship between humanity and God that serves as the primary core of spiritual development among the inmates and staff in the jail. In this area, the Ozamiz City Jail has provided its inmates an atmosphere of close divine reliance and connection, thereby changing the inner self of everyone through reflective and spiritual retreats and dimensions, leading to the hope they have been seeking in their lives and the contentment they desire to reach out.
Jail Warden Reyes, in his innermost passion to strengthen the spiritual as well as the social formation of the inmates make himself open to various religious groups to visit and hold spiritual formation activities in the jail. Catholic Jail Ministry, Happy Church, Seventh Day Adventist Church, Baptist Church and others are the few of different religious denominations who have visited the jail. Some of them staged presentations, film showing, religious concert, medical mission, wedding, Christian baptism, gift- giving, among others. These activities are all designed for them to hold themselves near to Christian faith. As a result, it has brought a lot of transformations in the lives of the inmates, deepened their attitudes towards God and human relations, softened their hearts and restored themselves to harmonious and dignifying life.
