                   Educational Program


       It is a fundamental duty of Ozamiz City Reformatory Center to provide education that is not only confined within the four walls of the classroom but is also contained in the total sphere of human learning and experience. This education gives every inmate the opportunity to know themselves closer through personal development sessions, the avenue for talent and skills development and the social awareness they deserve to enjoy and live out.

       Aside from this, inmates who are elementary level and those who have not gone to school are taught on the basic knowledge of writing, reading and solving numbers, while those who reach high school and college level are taught on technical skills to make themselves competitive and updated of the modern trends in education.

       The Jail Warden collaborated with the Department of Education, Misamis Occidental to launch “Alternative Learning System” in jail. OCRC formally commence back to school programs last June 23, 2006. It offers according to appropriate levels as indicated below;

       a) Basic Literacy which is exclusive for Elementary Level
       b) Accuracy and Equivalency is composing of High School level.

                      In this program inmates are required to comply 120
                      modules to qualify the national examination conducted by the
                      Bureau of Alternative Learning System. On February 4, 2007
                      eight inmates successfully took the A&E Test conducted by
                      DepEd Central Office representative Mrs. Evelyn Corporal.
       c) Literacy Cum Livelihood is open for inmates interested to learn basic ways of earning for a living upon reintegration to the society.
