Slytherin Scoop
By Beonca Aims

Like the winter blas, Slytherin seemed to fall into a lull that was until we decided to clean up the place a bit. First to have a face-lift was the dorms. With so few guys around, instead of four dorms, it is now just one. As for the girls dorms, we knocked it down to two instead of the four we had. This seems to be working way better and on top of that, there is going to be a Dorm Master for the boys dorm and two Dorm Mistresses for the girls dorm. They are suppose to recruit and keep it active, right now SeverusSnape is the one for the boys, and Rayne Hallowell stepped up for the Dark Labyrinth dorm, we are looking into one for the Viper Room, though I might take that spot. LOL. Next we are looking at our Games section, ideas are being thrown around for that and I will keep you posted as to what will happen.
New House Staff
By Beonca Aims

We attribute it to Muggle schooling with so many in college and all, but we had to switch up the staff some, Jenii Chang moved up to Senior Prefect, a job well suited to the active Slytherin. Jess DarkWing was fine in her Prefect position, so she stayed, but Eltanin was tapped for the other Prefect spot. Well deserved as the guy has been around a while and is quite active in the house, though you have to mind your grammar when hes around! For the Prefect Assistants, there was me and Allegra. We think with some new blood comes new ideas and I am looking forward to what this new combination might bring the house. So congrats new staff members!

Penvivor the Final Three
By Billy Raven

As of this printing, the voting has not finished, so I cannot say who won, but there are three Penvivor contestants left. One is Bryony, a huge Survivor fan and a strong competitor, also in the finals is Sapphire, who started out slow, or some say flew under the radar but came on strong towards the end some suspect a secret alliance between those two. The final contestant is Lynexe, the dark horse, but she held her own throughout the contest and has every right to be beside the other two.

It started with about 10 contestants, and after each challenge, one would be voted off Penabo Island by the house due to their low scoring. Then came two voted out at a time until there were five left; Amanda, Keato, Bry, Lynexe, and Sapphire. The finally challenge had five aspects to it ranging from doing the schools five challenges, five lessons, five posts in the locker threads, playing five gamesyou get the picture and if you dont get it, Penshire is the fifth house on the fifth floor. After this one, the five was knocked down to just the final three.

This is the second time the house of Penshire has run the Penvivor Challenge, and being a former contestant myself, I will say it was loads of fun and a great way to not only earn points for the house, but be active in clubs, write articles for both the Owl Gazette and the Wizard Diegest. Samuel Craft played host and did another excellent job, we look forward to the next Penvivor and hope to have even more entrants!
Penshire Prattle
By Ava Black

It was another great month for Penshire!!  Welcomed back Jimmy Banks and Alex Park.  We also had the chance to welcome two new students Denni Penshire and Andre Aldaine.  Penshire is growing stronger everyday and our games are always hopping!  We took to the quidditch pitch again this weekend, against Slytherin.  We are hoping for a win to keep our winning streak!  Go Cranes!  Penvivor has been a huge success and has come to an end.  February has many activities to look forward to, including a new Posting War!  So watch out, our membership, post and points just keep growing here at The Shire!
Penvivor
By Amanda Dasaro

Like the year before, Penshire repeated their house known phenomenon: Penvivor. Based on the hit reality television show on CBS, we participate in different challenges in order to be known as the sole survivor. We started out with many participants, each choosing a color for a "bandana" (if you will). The challenges were very interesting, and the competition was extensive. Our last challenge was the most interesting of all. It was all based on fives: Penshire is the 5th house, on the 5th floor, and it was the 5th challenge...with 5 competitors left. Check in soon to see who the winner of Penvivor was!
Penvivor: The Twist
By Bry Casten

As it's been in the past few editions of Penshire Prattle I expect you've all heard of Penvivor, Penshire's very own version of the reality-television hit Survivor.   So far we've had four challenges: Classes, Posting, Club-Submissions, and, most recently, Article-submissions.  Although the Article challenge doesn't end for another hour (hence one of the reasons I'm currently writing this), we've still got recent news in Penvivor standings.   This challenge marked the first major "twist" of the competition.

With high-rollers such as Ava Black and Billy Raven voted off the island, host Samuel Craft announced a twist equal to the "Outcast Tribe" in Season seven of Survivorthat is, that if any castaways already voted off placed in the top three the next challenge, they would be allowed back in the competition.

Article-writing was furious, but even with only a day left none of the people already voted out had posted up their totals!  We all knew that Billy and Ava were writing, but nothing was said and it continued that way until Samuel tallied the results and declared the top threedevoid of previously voted off players.  So while those still on the island were worried and worked hard to keep it from happening, nothing came to fruitionand the competition continues.
