Penshire Prattle
By Billy Raven

Just a quite blurb on the happenings in Penshire House, as I am sure others will write something. We have had some newbies join the house, and its always fun to get them involved in act ivies. The Chit-Chat area is full of private domains and other crazy topics and the games are going strong. Some of the more strange ones are typing with your elbows or nose! Course they make no sense, but fun to do anyway. Everyone has joined in the latest Inner-house contest, and I cant say what we are doing for it, but everyone has ideas and suggestions and we are doing pretty well, well, I think so. New RPGs are started with the newer students joining in and everyone helps to get the new students stared with avatars and siggie images, course we have the master, Samuel! The last posting war was a blast with sides taken as good Disney characters verses evil Disney characters. I will let you read an article elsewhere on who won that one, butmehaahahahahaaaaa.

Penshire has had a busy month.  We held our first post-a-thon featuring Disney Villains versus Disney Heroes.   Of course the Bad Guys won!  With over 18,000 posts that week it was truly Penshire that won, though!  We have had some newbies enter in our house Welcome you guys- and it has been a pretty happening place.  I predict good things for Penshire this term.
Adopt-a-Crane
By Billy Raven

It was announced that the Mentor program was now open and had been revised from last term. New recruits were requested to sign-up as mentors (now called leaders) with the rule being that you have to be there at least 3 months and posting. Course, I wanted to join, but Ava, the Head Girl, told me that I hadnt been back long enough yet. I replied, Sure, stick to the codeyou know they are more like guidelines anyway. But Ava stuck to her guns, after laughing at my Pirates reference. Thats what I like about Penshire; we do things differently, yet have bounties and guidelines in place to keep things fair and even. Oh sure, I will be around and post and someday I will be a leader too but meanwhile, I need to learn a few things about the school so I can be a great leader and answer my adopted cranes questions!
A Sad Goodbye!
By Ava Black

Penshire would like to take a moment to say goodbye to one of our own.  Danny Lupin joined in July 5, 2005.  He accumulated over 3400 posts during that time.  But the posts dont say it all!  He participated in many RPGs during his time in our house.  One of the most notable was battling the Evil-Squirrels that invaded Hogwarts!  He was always there to say hello or give a helpful opinion.  His articles in the Wizard Digest will truly be missed.  I just wanted to take a moment and say to Danny We loved you in Penshire and Best wishes on you next journey!
Penshire Posting War
By Andromeda Tonks-Black

Penshire has really been showing off how much fun they could be during this month's Posting War! The theme for this month was Disney Villains versus Hero's and was easily one of the most fun posting wars in Penshire yet. Our Hero's team featured Simba (Samuel), Ariel (Sapphire), Jasmine (Araceli), Peter Pan (Marcus), Alice (Voldie), Pocahontas (Rose), Mulan (Kayla), Belle (Amanda), Snow White (Hootie),
Cinderella (Thomasina), Tinkerbell (Maliah), Bambi (Shalamar) and Aurora (Bryony) and our Villains team had Wicked Queen (Faith), Maleficent (Ava), Lady Tremaine (Lynexe), Jafar (Cauly), the Queen of Hearts (Imogen), Captain Hook (Billy), Cruella de Vil (Riley), Ursula (Andromeda), Hades (Roger), Gaston (Caratacus), Yzma (Lacy), and Madam Mim (Emma)! In the beginning the Villains were in the lead. The Heroes kept their hopes high, but to no avail. After a long posting war that involved sprinkling goodness, bambi hats, squirting ink, and a Hero's cow, the Awesome Villains came up on top, for once!
Missing!
By A young lioness

As recently as the day after the End of Term, a member of the Gryffindor House left without warning. She left behind no clues to her disappearance, or why she would want to leave. I am talking about Gryffindor first year, Kimmie Brandon.

It was a shock to everyone, or almost everyone. Kimmie had been a great member of Gryffindor House, and had always helped out. She contributed to almost everything, from welcoming newbies to creating signs for Quidditch matches. The day of her disappearance, it was the main source of conversation. In the games even, two Gryffindors were talking about it back and forth, and I know at least one PM was sent to another lion thought had happened.

Suspicions have been flying back and forth, but no answer has come up. Gryffindor's Kimmie Brandon seems to have vanished without a trace.
Post-A-Thon Punishment?
By Audrea Martin

Gryffindor's first post-a-thon of the summer had an interesting twist. Not only were the Lions competing with each other for spamming glory, but those who did not come out on top were required to write an article for the Owl Gazette or Quibbler. That is this reporter's reason for writing this month. Only Leah Back, our house's notorious top poster was exempted from writing an article. The Prefect Assistant with an affinity for posting smilies won this PaT with 1,345 posts in just five short days. As a result, the other 12 participants will put their writing skills to use to earn some points for the house. This new twist has added a new competitive edge to the contest, as well as given us a new way to earn some points! Keep watching to see who will come out on top next time!
Ray; the new smiley in town
By Lily Duncan

I'm sure we're all familiar with our smiley friends Fred (hyper), Sly (dance), and Laughter (neener), but there's a new smiley to add to the family! And his name is Ray (woot).  I use the :woot: smiley often, because I'm usually happy, or celebrating some occasion. So I decided to name him Ray, for it looks like he is yelling Hooray! He is very happy to be a part of the smiley family & he's having loads of fun with his friends Sly, Fred and Laughter! Hooray for Ray!
Ravenclaw's Army
By Arya Drottningu

Ravenclaw's Army is a highly productive and interactive way for Ravenclaw students to learn defense magic and to make new friends.  As of July 25, 2007, this army had already acquired five members:  Luna Lovegood, Arya Drottningu, Anna Banana, Andela Schmorgie, and Dawlish Ledger wood, taking in the fact that this army had only started on July 24, 2007.

It all started in the game Spam - a - lot, where Luna made an army made of Ravenclaw smilies, and called it Ravenclaw's Army.  She then decided to make the army real so that Ravenclaw members could be an actual part of it.  Ravenclaw's Army soon became a fast growing group.

Seeing the many new members for a new and growing army, it is bound to be a great success.
Scavenger Hunt
By Olive Snitzberry

Recently, the kind staff of Ravenclaw have organized a Scavenger Hunt for fun! They have set out 20 things to find and depending on how many you find, when you send in your results, you receive a prize! These 20 things are odd at first sight and even harder to find! Overall, Ravenclaw is having a lot of fun with it!
A Ravenclaw Disappointment
By Luna Lovegood of Ravenclaw

A huge disappointment hit the students of Ravenclaw after the common room cleanout. Starting post numbers deleted, the May group post-a-thon has no winners or losers. The groups worked exceptionally hard to get the number of posts that they did. Some people believe that they got at least a thousand posts if not more. Will they live threw it or will they torture Will, a new Ravenclaw prefect, about this for the rest of his life? Who really knows?

Quite the Introduction
By The Slithering Serpent

This article is a little late coming. But it is definitely worth the read. By now many of you have seen, if not met, Lyra Sylvertongue of Slytherin.

From the moment she stepped into the Slytherin Common Room she has gone beyond living up to her name. Especially when it comes to our own senior prefect, Tom Riddle.

What many do not know, is that when these two first met, well, lets just say they have their differences. I, for one, have never seen Mr. Riddle get as mad as he was that day. But can't really blame him, who likes to be told to go polish cauldrons with the house elves?

Luck for Lyra, the soon-to-be-HOH, Prof. Rosehill stepped in before Tom could hex her. It was definitely a beautiful moment to see someone stand up to Tom, and it would definitely be something I would pay to see again.
FPFP
By an anonymous Slytherin

Ever since the new term started, there is a new group out there, hunting the evil and protecting the goodor something of the like.

The FPFP the name they have given themselves are out in Slytherins common room, always on the lookout for the most recent happenings, dressed in silly outfits to fit their personalities, and using a certain formation once they enter. Its quite a show they offer, and their hair-dos and puffing outfits are quite amusing.
The mysterious group of students has gotten many loyal followers in a short amount of time, all ready and willing to bow to them once the leader of this little group calls out for it.  Where these students went to get their outfits, however, is still a mystery to the rest of the house. After all, they look quite ridiculous.

None the less, they willingly face each challenge given, with the proper manner as how to win, and to make the rest of the house happy and even happier. Lets bow to them if you are a Slytherinand if youre not, dont even think to come too close to the Slytherin common room - you might get deaf after the meeting.
Slytherins crazy Zezima Weasley
By anonymous

"Recent evidence shows that one Slytherin, that has joined two month's ago, is actually crazy. Slytherin's own Kitty Bright, or Kit-Kat caught Slytherins own Zezima Weasley dancing with a tuna. This is what Kit had to say about this sight: 'At first I was shocked, then I realized it was hilarious! I mean its not every day you see some one dancing with a tuna. Good times...'

Then, about two days later Kit-Kat came back to me with some more crazy Zezima news. She says: 'I caught Zezima acting like a mad taco. Since I now know that Zezima is kind of coco, if you see any thing strange from him, it wont be any thing new.' Of course, if he's not dancing with a tuna or acting like a mad taco, its new."
