| May Birthdays!
By Fiona Chauvet May has been a popular month for birthdays in Gryffindor! Not sure if that was planned, or Gryffindors just have a tendency of being born in May. Anyway, whatever the case may be, there were plenty of special days for us to celebrate about. On May 1st we celebrated the birth of our own Kimmie Mimi Brandon. The 6th was our very awesome Prefect, Felicity Hedwigs special day. On the 8th we had the luck of celebrating both Rose Wick and Heather Tschaenns birthdays. Benji Lugues birthday fell on the 12th, and a week later we were able to celebrate Kalie Blacks birthday on the 19th. Jill Zs birthday was on the 20th, and Amber Galanodels was just two days later on the 22nd. The end of May brought Leah Blacks birthday, which fell on the 23rd. As you can see there were plenty of days for celebrating in Gryffindor this month, and Id like to wish everyone who had a birthday in May, a huge happy birthday! |
| Going for Gold
By Hilary Stevens If I asked you what characteristics you would associate with a Gryffindor what would you say? Brave? Courageous? How about committed and determined? Because thats certainly what the whole house is now! Everyone is pushing for as many points and posts as possible, with the house being only a couple of thousand posts off the monthly target. Everyone is supporting everyone else, digging up those long forgotten lessons, doing anything for their clubs. Basically we are doing everything we can to climb back up! With merely weeks until the end of term everyone wants to do as much as possible. Everyone is mucking in, with newbies doing everything they can even though they have no classes to attend. So other houses, be warned, Gryffindor is raring and ready, and will catch up very quickly and very, very soon! |
| Back Alive : Posts Update
By Roxanne Whitez So after much consideration and a lack of updates, I have come to bring you the number update; back [not literally] from the dead. Our huggable-lovable Leah Black stands firmly as number one with over 25ooo posts. Prefect Kristin or known as Tintin stands at 16o5o posts, second as our lovely Head of House, Professor Opal is third with over 12ooo posts. Following, we have Megan Miller close to getting 10k, with 9,795 posts. Yours truly stands as fifth, in the dead center with 8,729 posts while Gryffindor's new Heart Throb is following very closely behind with 8,539 posts. That's pretty impressive, seeing as he hit 8000 at the beginning of the month! Moving on, we have Kalie Black, who has finally come back to us after a good number months, still holding her position with over 7ooo posts. Following by a distance of 3k posts, we have Hermy-own with 6,826 posts. And lastly, two dear girls who haven't been too active but we still love them, Felicity with 5,5k and Amber Potter with 5k. And a little something, our darling Rose Wick aka Rorie, reached 3000 posts just this month! So stay tight, the Gryffindors simply love posting! |
| The Welcome Wagon is Out Again!
By Megan Miller As the end of term approaches us quickly, Gryffindor House would like to take some time out of the hustle and bustle of end of term preparations to welcome their new lions to the den! Though there aren't many, our warmest welcomes and greetings still go out to Angelina Locks, Floccinocini and Abigail Anderson. With the arrival of these three new lions, we also welcome back one who has been gone for quite some time, Kalie Black! It's great to have you all here and we hope you'll enjoy your time here at Hogwarts! |
| Latest Happenings in Gryffindor
By Megan Miller As the end of term quickly approaches, Hogwarts has gone into a flurry of chaos making preparations. Students are turning in lessons for a last gain of points in the competition for the House Cup, teachers are being swamped with marking end-of-term lessons and homework assignments, and changes are going on within every House. What has been happening in Gryffindor, you may ask. Well, to begin, we've welcomed back Kalie Black, who has been away for a lengthy time, but promises us she won't be leaving again, and if she does, it won't be for so long this time. We've also welcomed three new students, Angelina Locks, Abigail Anderson, and Floccinocini (who has been nicknamed Floxy by our very own Roxanne Whitez). We have also gained a new club, run by Rose Wick, which has dubbed the Gryffindor Dueling Club. So far, the members include: Rose Wick, Hilary Stevens, Ellie Davidson, Gawyn Crossguard and Roxanne Whitez, but I'm sure there will be many more members as time goes on and the club isn't so new. Our resident heartthrob, Gawyn Crossguard, and his sweetheart Roxanne Whitez, are still going strong. As for other newly formed couples, none to report as of now. That about raps up our latest happenings within the lion's den! |
| Hufflepuff Happenings
By Zoey Taylor This month our house has been really busy earning points and its really paid off as our hourglass has gone up thousands and thousands of points lately. Weve also been working on several new shops which you will be able to check out in the various Hufflepuff Co-ops. Besides being busy beavers weve been able to welcome several new Huffs into the house such as AlleyRowFinnigan, Ameila Roux, Anu, Caleb Amaruq, and Soma. And last but not least weve been getting hyped up for our upcoming game against Gryffindor so look out Lions the Badgers are ready for a brawl! |
| Penshire PJ party
By Ava Black Penshire held its first pajama party on the weekend of May 18 - 20. The RPG has held a multitude of fun things. Food and even TWISTER! Professor Ripley gathered everyone in their favorite sleepy time duds - hers being Christopher Robin pjs. Everyone brought a stuffed animal and it was really a good time. It is scheduled to now be an annual event in the Penshire Common room! |
| Ava Challenges All
By Ava Black I, Ava Black challenged the entire Penshire house to beat me in submissions to the writing clubs double point day! Of course I was way too confident and Senior Prefect Samuel Craft beat me with 141 writings. I had a whooping 108 of my own. Of course we didnt come close to Hufflepuff, but our entire house managed some damage of our own. I still dont know how Samuel beat me, but there are no real losers here! Every bit counts towards the race to the cup. |
| Penshire PJ Party
By Sleeping Sally Penshire had its first annual PJ party. A good time was had by one and all. Everybody showed up in their cutest PJs and brought their stuffed pals. There were games being played such as Twister and Clue. There was junk food a plenty of about any kind you can imagine including birthday cakes for Jimmy Stewart. Well Thomasina is insane for the guy and he has been dead for ten years. She made everybody sing Happy birthday before she would give it out, but they wanted cake enough to sing for it. The first to fall asleep was Morty and he got peanut butter between the toes, I wonder how he slept through that. Everyone was roaring with laughter when he woke up thinking there were slugs between his toes. They all had a lot of fun, but Professor Ripley is still giving upset tummy potions. |

| Penshire Prattle
By Ava Black This has been another exciting month for Penshire. We have managed to stay on top for the HOUSE CUP! The race is still too close to tell, but we are hoping for a victory! Now for Quidditch - we managed another win when playing against Ravenclaw this past week. This gave us a clean sweep with the entire game - of which we are both thankful for and proud of. We held our first ever PJ party with much success and have been doing various things to work towards the house cup. We will not go down without a fight! |
| Penshire of the Month
By Ava Black We would like to congratulate Lynexe Couronne as this months Penshire of the Month. Lynexe is an avid RPG-er in Penshire. She has always been there for a post-a-thon or to help out. A mentor and friend. We love her very much at Penshire. Lyn has also been writing for the Owl Gazette, as well. She joined in December of 2005 and has been going since. Congratulations Lyn! |
| Professor of the Year!
By Ava Black Penshire would like to recognize our beloved Head of House, Professor Ripley. She is truly our Professor of the Year. Prof. Ripley is like a mother to all of us Shirelings (as she calls us). She is always there for a caring post or to listen to a griping personal message. Without her Penshire would not be nearly the same. I speak for all of us in the entire house - telling you that we love her very much and she is a big part of why we love Pads. Thank you Professor Ripley for being such an awesome person in our Virtual Lives! |
| Penshire Traditions
Thomasina Penshire Has started some new traditions this year. We held the first House given Dance for Valentines Day, we have a PJ party, & Owl challenge. We are all hoping to come up with more traditions. Being a newly restarted house we don't really know the old traditions other than the Crane Dance. It's like having a family and home away from home. I think all houses should have their own special traditions to catty on for generations to come. It's like living another part of history. The school it's self has traditions carried on for centuries, such as the Yule ball, Quidditch Cup, House Cup, and the start and end of term banquets. There are also Traditions that were old and have come back like the Tri Wizard cup. Also some rather new ones like the Easter egg hunt and Pads Olympics. Traditions seem to keep us together and yet keep us as individuals. |
| Penshire Owl Challenge
Masi There were many owls entered in the first annual Penshire owl challenge... It was exciting from start to finish. Owls of many colors and breeds turned out for the big race. There was a test of hunting, whistling commands, and all out speed to deliver a package to Hogs mead post office. My owl won the hunting part, Bry's won the speed and Ava's won the Whistle commands, but Ava's owl came in second in Hunting and speed, so In the end at the all around of the competition, Pipa, Ava Black's barn owl won the first prize with Bry Casten's owl Pyxis in second place & My poor Eagle owl coming in third. For first prize Ava received a new owl cage, Bry for second place won a new owl perch and I won a bag of mice to feed my owl. The ones coming in below third had to clean the owlery. Glad I didn't come in fourth. |

| Penshire Prattle
By Samuel Craft The month of May has been a rather successful and eventful month for the house of Penshire. For the first time in Penshire history, our house had its very first Pajama Party. Each student dressed up in their favorite pajamas and brought a long their most prizes stuffed animal. Plenty of refreshments were made, party decorations filled the common room, music blasted through the walls, and a lot of good times and laughs were shared. This party was a wonderful way for the house to come together for a good role-play as well as using our house chat as well. Penshire has also won their last match against Ravenclaw, making the Crafty Cranes undefeatable and also the winners of the Quidditch Cup! Finally, the house would like to welcome Laela Schroeder and Luna to our magnificent house. Both have already introduced themselves, joined a dorm, and have also set up their locker. All in all, welcome to Penshire! |
| Ravenclaw Rap Home is where the Heart Is
By Penny Hung I come into my lovely blue-clad Common Room and look around. I see people having fun reading, relaxing, doing homework, or just relaxing and my heart comes to ease. No matter where Ive been or if Ive been the most active Raven in the world, I still feel welcome here. It doesnt matter that Ive been gone for about 4 months. It doesnt matter. Because were all a family. So it doesnt matter if we get the cup, though winning is nice. Because were all looking forward as a team, as a family. Well conquer together and well fall together. <3 I love you Ravenclaw! Thanks for everything! |
| New Students!
By Summer Boy, we are always so thrilled to see new students! This month, we've got 9 new students! And what is more exciting is that quite a few of them have made themselves familiar with the Common Room already, and have been contributing to the house! So, another great big welcome goes out to Sati Vanita, Carl, NakomisLona, Avacraft Pagana, Nick Ford, Mikita Haines, Vincent Cauldwell, Daniella Clearvall, and last but not least, Oleena Bartelmy. Some of them, you may already see hanging out at the Bulletin Board! Now, with new students and the return of the older Ravens, this can only mean that we will be having an adventurous summer! |
| They Are Back!
By Summer Just as we had anticipated, a couple of our missed Ravens had finally come back home to the comfort of the Ravenclaw Common Room, and some have also ventured out to the BB hoping to see some familiar faces from other houses. To the older Ravens, it was delightful to see old friends again, and to the newer Ravens, some tried to hide their 'newbie' status *cough*Artemius*cough* We'd like to welcome back Punjabi, Ariene and Amanda Bloom! We all missed you so much, and it's great to see you guys back again. |
| PATs and Polls
By Slytherin House Lately the Slytherin house has been busy as we do are best to out do the Hufflepuff house during our PAT we have going with them. All I know is this that we have some people with great minds and great point gaining power. So watch out Puffs the Serpents are ready to strike. Also recently the boys have taken a notice to new polls popping up in the general chitchat area. What kind of polls? You might ask. Well polls like cutest boy or Sweetest boy that I just hope doesnt start pitting boys against boys cause if you ask me we have enough ego fighting among the girls and I think there would be a lot of males in the Hospital Wing if the girls keep trying to put us boys up against Tom and the aura he admits from himself. So I hope either we start getting some similar polls for the females or that the polls stop, for the sake of us poor males. |
