OVIDE BIGHETTY 
Ovide Bighetty is a self-taught artist originally from Pukatawagan First Nations in northern Manitoba. Bighetty, has been painting for 18 years. Bighetty's paintings are based on spirituality, stories, symbolism and legends passed down by elders. He's well known throughout the Canadian provinces, and Europe. Most recently he completed a mural project with Indian Metis Christian Fellowship that will be on exhibit throughout Saskatchewan and later published into a book. Bighetty is well known for donating his works to a variety of organizations. He enjoys working with schools and children teaching the basics of painting, telling legends passed down to him, supervising mural projects and teaching Cree and recreation. Bighetty's main goal is to complete his degree in Business Administration through the First Nations University of Canada. |
