What is excluded from
Kosher

Not every topic relating to Kashrut is included in our Kosher Forum. We will specifically exclude the following issues or areas:

  1. Kosher tefillin, taleitot, or the like. The word Kosher can be ambiguous. Our Kosher Forum discusses only food issues. The issues mentioned above are discussed in our Leining forum.
  2. Shatnez. These clothes that may not be worn may be discussed on our Jewish Traditions group.
  3. Political issues. That's right - there's a lot of politics going on in the field of Kashrut. My Rabbi can beat up your Rabbi; my hechsher is better than yours. We will not take a stand on hechsherim. You must determine that together with your own authoritative Rabbi.
