Matt Widmann
Matt is our great hammered dulcimer player. He is 17 and has been playing the dulcimer for going on five years now. Matt started off playing the piano as everyone else did and took a little violin as well. He then decided on the hammered dulcimer. Matt was shown the basics on the dulcimer by player Dennis Murphy and now studies with teachers Deby Benton Grosjean and David Brewer. Matt has traveled all over the United States, going to various Hammered Dulcimer festivals. In spring of 2002, Matt was awarded first place in the California State Hammered Dulcimer contest. Matt has also enjoyed playing with the group D� Ch�adaoin and the Kids Celtic Band. In addition to playing hammered dulcimer, Matt also takes on the challenge of the tenor banjo and mandolin. Matt enjoys digital media, climbing trees, dirtbiking, and fishing in Alaska with his dad and brother. As well as being our fearless leader!
