Opposites Collide
Powerless.
One thought, one moment, one girl.
Powerful.
One thought, one moment, one boy.
To the world opposites attract, but I say opposites collide. Collide in such a powerful and life-changing way.
Ready for the crash of this collision?
Girl meets boy.

It was a warm Tuesday morning in August, and it was the first day back for Lincoln High School. There remained to be, as always before, somewhat of an excitement to students to be back with their friends. But not Alicia Anderson. She was a quiet, unknown girl who was the exception. For her, being in a social environment was her worst fear. Gaining friends and speaking up wasn't an option. In her mind it was as if she was the most powerless person on earth.

Same Tuesday morning, same excitement- different story. His name was Justin C. Smith, a.k.a. JC. He was the type of guy who always had something to say. It could be the rudest remark about someone's intelligence or even about what they were wearing. Whatever it was, his comments were always disregarded. Regardless, he "knew" he had it all figured out. To him the only voice that mattered was his alone. In his own mind it was as if he was the most powerful person on earth.

The last block bell rang and an announcement began. The principal told the students that people were missing. He said that planes, cars, and trains were crashing everywhere and that the occupants of some vehicles were nowhere to be found. He informs all students to return home ASAP.

Alicia thought and whispered to herself, "At that time Michael, the archangel who stands guard over your nation, will arise. Then there will be a time of anguish greater than any since nations first came into existence. But at that time every one of your people whose name is written in the book will be rescued." (Daniel 12:1)

By this time all the students were running frantically out of the building and so was she. As she slipped passed the doors to the outside, she stumbled to the ground, but not without taking down a bistander in front of her. Who other could it be but JC himself.

As they both were getting up he turned to her and said, " What's your problem?"
She quickly apologized and looked away. He brushed himself off and asked rhetorically, "What's going on around here? What is the reason for all this?"
Alicia looked at him and said, "I know exactly what's going on."
He snapped back, "Well I wasn't askin' you...but what's your answer for all this?"
Alicia responded, "God has come back for his people, the ones who claimed that He was their Savior. We were all left because we weren't true believers and/or weren't steady followers of Christ."
JC looked at her as if she had lost it and said "Your crazy kid!" Alicia didn't expect that comment but she held in her feelings and looked away.
Then JC said, " I know everything there is to know and one is that God isn't real."
Alicia said "Well apparently you don't know everything, because God is real and even though your still standing on this earth after all this; He is still willing to give you another chance...look I'll show you."

Alicia reached in her backpack and grabbed her Bible. She began showing JC verses and revealing the Truth to him. An hour or so had gone by when they finished reading and praying. JC was crying and had nothing left to say. That's the day JC was saved. An unknown girl who thought she had nothing purposeful to say told the most wonderful story of all to the self-righteous guy who thought he had it all figured out.

And even more, God was behind it all. He took two individuals, guided them to one another, and created for them both, a life-changing experience. From that day on they reached out. Through the good, the bad, and the doubtful days of simply trying to stay alive, they spoke God's word to anyone who came their way.
