This week has really run together. This is good, since it was simply "one thing after another," instead of "one damn thing after another."

I finally got all my furniture here last Friday. I rented a U-haul and John donated half the muscle. It was a stick shift--which I am not comfortable driving--so he maneuvered it around the beltway too.

Work was a little crazy. The RFP for the procurement looks stranger every day. I'm almost finished with my part of the technical specification, but I don't understand how it can succeed if it's issued with the current contract type. By my estimate we are looking for about $15 million worth of computer goods and services, and with that much at stake, it's hard to believe that they would really not evaluate the comparative costs of the third that is devoted to timesharing services--just to avoid having to do a benchmark. The politics are very strange, and I am glad to be a consultant.

The household still hangs together and we do make small progress toward getting things squared away. It's slow but steady. I haven't gotten to practice Aikido as much as I'd like, but that should change.
