Ajak was from Savage, a highly-skilled speed metal outfit, well-known in the competition circuit.
Influenced by an array of rock/metal vocalists such as Mike Patton, Chris Cornell, Phil Anselmo amongst others, as the frontman simply puts it," I just love to rock."
Savage had been a strong contender in the music competitions in Singapore, and this is where Savage met the rising metal upstart, Ossuary." I first saw them in a club somewhere and I've always thought since then that this band (Ossuary) was a foreign band. They certainly didn't sound like a local band to me."
And so the first beginings of a major admiration took place.
"I thought 'My god! This band kicks ass!' I definitely wanted to be in the band cause I know I could handle the stuff they were playing."
His prayers were answered one day when a weird turn of events occured.
"I've kind of lost interest in playing with Savage. So one day, I made a call to my bandmate telling him the unbearable news that I'm quiting the band.I made the call, did what I was supposed to do and that was it.I thought 'Well that's it then, so much for this band shit.' Not a few minutes later the phone rang.I picked it up fearing it was my ex-bandmates wanting to give me a good tounge-lashing. But the caller turned out to be Shahril, and what caused me to almost keel over was he was offering me to join Ossuary. It took me several minutes to assure myself that this was no big set-up. As it turned out, Ossuary had been keeping an eye on me when Savage did some shows with them. So they had me in mind when they decided to look for another vocalist. As for the phone call he made just right after I quit Savage, it was just pure coincidental timing. It's quite unbelievable really."
