Dining Halls

The Long House is the only remaining dining hall.  It is used basically for food storage and a distribution point for the campers food.  I understand that money from the sale of the old council office is earmarked for the kitchen restoration. The hope is the kitchen will be operational by next summer. The Council House still stands, but it has been boarded up for years.

The exterior of the Long House  looks to be in good shape.

On the side of the Long House are cinder block grills for barbecues. They were used throughout the summer including the opening chicken BBQ.

By the time I got to the Council House, the rain was pretty heavy and it was tough to get a good picture.  You can see the boarded up windows and some wood being stored under the porch.

Here is the Council House side by the old kitchen and country store.  If you look closely you can see the bottom of the right post has rotted away and there are large holes is some of the plywood that covers the door.
