The Oromocto Skating Club is a member of  Skate Canada.  We offer many programs for all ages.  The following list explains the different programs offered by the Oromocto Skating Club.  Source: Skate Canada Website
Canskate:

Canskate is a learn-to-skate program offered to all ages, and is best suited for beginner - recreational skaters.  Each particpant that joins becomes a member of Skate Canada, which is the only national sport governing body within Canada.  Skaters have the opportunity to learn basic skating skills from a recognized 3M NCCP certified professional coach.  Club coaches are assisted by Program Assistants (usually test or competitive skaters).  Each participant's skills are evaluated though group lessons,  and badges are awarded upon finishing each level.  One of the standards from Skate Canada is: skaters should be kept moving 90% of the time to ensure an active, fun, and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.
Junior Free Skate (Group Lessons):

Teaches more than the basics of figure skating. Skaters in this program will have group instruction provided by a professional coach.  These lessons are included in their registration fee.  Skaters in this group are able to attempt the Preliminary Skate Canada tests if they choose.

Competetive Skate (Junior - Senior Levels):
A Program designed for skaters above the level of Canskate, who wish to learn more than the fundamentals of figure skating.  This program incorporates a series of Skate Canada approved tests to help skaters with competitive potential, advance from provincial to national championships and beyond.  Rules and regulations are established by the International Skating Union (ISU), and are incorporated into Skate Canada's test regulations.  The different categories are:
Singles, Pairs, and Ice Dancing. As skaters progress, they move from each level; beginning with Juvenile, then Pre-Novice, and Novice.  Private lessons are arranged by the skater, and skater's parents, with a professional coach.  Registration fees for this program cover the cost of ice time and stroking lessons only. Skaters are split into ice times as follows:
Juniors- Premiminary Free Skate to Jr.Bronze
Intermediates- Sr. Bronze Free Skate
Seniors- Jr. Silver to Pre-Novice freestyle tests or higher
Adult Skate:
This program covers a wide range of skating skills from beginner skaters (who want to learn to skate for enjoyment); to the experienced skater, who wishes to compete in the Adult Competitve events.
