| What is a Skate Canada Professional Coach? Anyone who is fully certified with a NCCP Level 1 or higher, a member of Skate Canada, and has a valid First Aid certificate. All coaches must be certified through the 3M National Coaching Certification Program (3M NCCP). What are Program Assistants? They are not professional coaches, but assist the Skate Canada Coach in a volunteer capacity with Canskate or group lessons in the Test Program. What are the Accreditation Standards for Coaches? Refer to certification standards for coaches, outlined in Section 2400 of the Skate Canada Rule Book. What are the approved First Aid Courses for Professional Coaches? St. John's Ambulance and Red Cross courses are preferred, but other first aid courses can be considered for approval by th Section Coaching Committe. They must consist of the following criteria: -Course must be a minimum of 7 hours in lengh -Course must have an expiry of 3 years of less -Course must include a written test -Course Must incorporate a practical compent -Course must be emergency related |
| All of our coaches are NCCP Certified and are available for private lessons. Please contact the coach directly if you are interested in private lessons. We ask that you do not disturb the coaches while they are on the ice regarding private lessons. |
