Chapter 13 |
Matt Hardy stared at the person before him, he had been doing that ever since he found Jeff in the basement. "What??" Jeff asked, without a sign of life in his tone. The elder Hardy fold his arm firmly before him, he wanted answers. "Who are you?" he questioned, his voice hard and cold. Jeff felt disturbed. Matt his brother, talking like a commander in a combat movie made him uneasy. He secretly thanked god that the Matt in his world is nothing like this one. "Jeff...." he paused, still deciding if he should tell them the truth. What if they don't believe him? "I ...don't remember." better not tell them now. "I don't remember anything....I don't know....But... I have no intentions to intrude your... whatever you guys call this place......." "How can we trust your words?" Jericho interrupted. Jeff was dumb folded, he didn't know how to prove himself clean. "Guess you just have to take my words." The room was painfully silence for a whole long minute before Edge spoke up. "Come on guys, give him a break. Besides, he is clean, no Stagma detected." "Stagma??" Jeff frowned, what the hell was it? "Fine, but you have to stay here until you are identified and proven clean." Matt spoke his mind, he could not risk the life and safety of the entire group. "Identified? How? I don't even remember..." Jeff couldn't help worrying, he had no identity in this world. He was dead long time ago. Besides he need to find a way to get back home. "That, you don't need to know" came a cold brief answer from Matt. The younger Hardy looked at his elder brother's double with a frown. The whole "Mr. hard and mean Matt" thing was starting to get into his nerves. But Jeff kept his feelings to himself, he didn't want to mess things up further. "Hey!" Geena was dying to ask the handsome stranger a question. Jeff turned to look at the girl standing next to Edge. The dream, she was in the dream. "It's you!..." he uttered softly, finding it hard to believe. "Hello?? Something wrong?" asked Geena after seeing Jeff's confused face. "Nothing..." The Hardy decided to stay quite until he understands what exactly was happening to him. Matt instantly noticed Jeff's reaction and frowned. He was right about one thing, the guy was hiding something from them. Good or bad, he didn't know, but he will dig in to find out. Guess it wasn't a good time to ask the question, Geena cleverly changed the topic. "You don't look so good, I think we should go." Geena stood up and pushed her friends out of the room. She took a glanced at Jeff before she shut the door. He looked kinda familiar.... he reminds her of Matt.. somewhere..... "Hmm.. Jeff..." she wispered softly to herself. |
