Chapter 12 |
The surrounding was unknown to him. The environment, so unfamiliar. Jeff didn't really know what to think, he hoped he had not lost his mind. Nobody seems to recognized him, not even his one and only brother, Matt. Was he dead? Or he was just having a bad dream? He looked around him, boxes of weapons stacked all over the room. Guns of all sort, explosive.... the ugly faces of war! Tired and confused, the Hardy let himself drop to the floor "I am so hungry..."he mumbled, wondered when he last had his meal. 2 hours before Smack Down!? Lord! that seems days ago. He stared groggily at the dark dirty ceiling above him. Maybe this is just a dream, a lousy no good dream! Jeff squished his eyes shut, hoping this would just go away. He reopened them, there was that ceiling again. He then realised, this was no dream. He sat up straight as terror seized him. Everything was real. the wound, the weapon, the base, even that girl was real! "How could this be happening?" he must be crazy! Jeff struggled to get up on his feet. As he did, that all too familiar pain hit his nerval system once again. It felt like hell fire, rising angrily from the underground devouring every part of his body. Then came the treacherous coldness, like thousands of tiny sharp needles piercing their way through "Argh!" Jeff let out an agonising scream of pain as he collapsed. Beams of white light slashed across his vision before everything went pitch dark. "Jeff..." its that voice again. Jeff struggled to see in the dark, eventually he saw a figure at a far distant. It was her!! The girl he first saw after the accident, however she looked a bit different... what was it? He couldn't tell. "You?" Jeff tried to walk towards her but there seems to have a an invisible wall that separate them apart. "Stop the invasion.." He heard her said. Jeff tried to push his way through the wall of darkness, but to no ail. "What invasion?" before she could answer that horrible pain strike again. "NOOOOOOO!" "Are you alright?" came a familiar voice. Jeff blinked, his version was a mess. Thousand of faces circulating around before they slowly set back in place. "Can you hear me?" it was Matt peering down at him. "Matt!" the younger Hardy hugged his brother like a frightened child desperate for shelter. He need someone to hold on, someone he could rely on. His brother. But could he trust this brother from the parallel world? He had yet to find out. To be continued........ |
